Pittsburgh hidden water park2/2/2024 Not sure if we’ll be buying season passes after the last few trips there being so terrible.A casual visitor to North Park could easily mistake the 101-foot-tall, bullet-shaped structure near the Lodge pavilion as nothing more than a rusting, abandoned curiosity.īuilt in 1937 during the Works Progress Administration, the cylindrical steel tank along North Ridge Road - officially known as the Allegheny County North Park Water Supply System Standpipe - once held a 300,000 gallon supply of water for the park.īefore being shuttered by Allegheny County in the early 1970s because it was deteriorating and becoming dangerous, visitors could climb the 154-step staircase spiraling up the exterior of the 25-foot diameter tank to an observation deck. Her customer service was on point! Wish I would have caught her name! But her momma should be proud! The dip n dots was so frost bitten that it didn’t even taste like banana split. I would like to give a shout out to the nice young lady at dip n dots that served even though she was already on her way out the door for her scheduled break. Very disappointed with our overall experience at the park the past few times we visited. Tubes at the exit were stacked so high blocking the exit to get off the lazy river. The lazy river was filthy, tons of bugs, leaves and other Debris all throughout the water. Cheese was Luke warm, fries were soggy as well. When I returned the pizza, the response from the worker was oh yea they all look and taste like that!!! No apology, just offered to give me another personal pan that looked and tasted the same exact way!!! Potatoe patch fries were less then appetizing. The pizza was burnt to a crisp, the dough was soggy and tasted like cardboard. I would return and recommend to others.Īs a season pass holder for many many years, my family and I are becoming more and more disappointed in the water park! Visited today and spent well over 80 bucks for food and drinks. The food is pricey but what park isn’t just plan your visit accordingly we ate at red Robin in the waterfront before we came in and just got a snack of fries and some drinks. There are lockers even if a bit pricey to store your belongings. There is plenty of seating and a nice boardwalk atmosphere. The whole place seemed spruced up and clean compared to years ago. It wasStill fun to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. I wish they had some thing more for adults or people that don’t do as much as I didn’t do all the slides. It did seem a bit pricey as on sale it was still $53 I believe. I just did the one day pass as an adult as I won’t go much to the parks. My daughter and her friend opted to buy the premium passes that are good for Kennywood Idlewild and Sandcastle you also get the free parking a souvenir cup for refills and discounts on food and souvenirs. We found plenty of other things to do between the pool the wave pool and the other slides. The new slide is not up and running yet either as it is still being built. That being said the lazy river was closed I think due to flooding as was another slide. It was the perfect day hot enough to swim but not boiling hot and because it was still early in the season the park was busy but not packed. I brought her and a friend back now as teens. We hadn’t been here in 15 years when my daughter was a toddler.
